The Hagley Library’s Manuscripts and Archives Department is seeking to hire a summer intern to process the Gilpin, Van Trump & Montgomery, Inc. records. The firm started as an insurer of the DuPont Company in 1861 and grew to undertake other financial services. The collection, 14 linear feet, consists of maps and plans, marketing materials, photographs and slides, reports, and other material.
The successful candidate will re-house materials and create a finding aid for the collection.
The successful applicant shall have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and experience, or at the very least training, in processing archival collections.
Summer internships at Hagley typically entail 350 hours of service. The rate is $14 per hour. Applications will be reviewed starting April 1, 2017, until the internship is filled. Hagley Museum and Library is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. Women, minorities, people with disabilities and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
