We are proud to congratulate members of the Audiovisual and Digital Collections Department Laura Bees, Ken Cleary, Megan Miller, and Laurie (Rizzo) Sather, for their most recent accomplishment, becoming Certified Archivists! In order to set professional standards, the Society of American Archivists established the Academy of Certified Archivists in 1989. The ACA, in turn, sets educational and experience requirements for the certification, which culminates in the Archival Certification Examination.
Certified Archivists possess expertise in and knowledge of all aspects of archival management; they have also demonstrated their abilities with ethical issues as well as outreach and donor relations. Certification demonstrates mastery of a defined body of knowledge and skills for successful archival practice.
Certified Archivist Laura Bees is a Scanning Technician at Hagley. Certified Archivist Ken Cleary is the Project Archivist for the David Sarnoff Collection Processing Project at Hagley. Certified Archivist Megan Miller is an Intern for the David Sarnoff Collection Processing Project at Hagley. Certified Archivist Laurie (Rizzo) Sather is the Audiovisual Archivist at Hagley.
