Are you enthusiastic about inspiring a love of learning among school-aged children? Hagley Museum is seeking energetic individuals who enjoy sharing tales and facilitating hands-on activities bringing 19th century industrial history and technology to life as members of our school programs guide team.
Successful candidates have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are comfortable managing and engaging groups of up to 12 school children at a time. Flexibility and a positive attitude are essential.
This position works directly with school-aged learners on field trip programs from March through June, after thorough training in early March. This position has a maximum of 20 hours per week with an average of 12 to 15 hours per week. There can be opportunities to cross-train for other guide positions during the summer season, and to continue as a school program guide for the fall field trip season.
Assignments take place in a combination of indoor and outdoor settings and involve standing and walking on uneven terrain. Some assignments require wearing outfits suggestive of mid-19th century styles. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and stand or walk for up to 3 hours of time.
