Museum Collection: In Case of Fire…Disassemble Bed?
In our home, the kids’ bedrooms are on the second floor. None of these rooms have a porch or roof below their windows. Although that decreases the likelihood that my kids will sneak out as teenagers, in an emergency the kids would have a long and dangerous jump to safety.

Mid-century Magazine Ads from the Spring Cotton Mills
Recently while handling family papers collected by my grandmother in North Carolina, I came across a packet of color magazine ads from Springs Cotton Mills. Looking back, she used this material as inspiration for a party costume many years ago.

The Heart of Cleveland film: A Lost Gem from the Cinecraft Archive
We have spent the summer at Hagley continuing to process films, still images, and paper from the Cinecraft collection. One of the many surprising discoveries is that some of the films in the collection were not produced by Cinecraft.

It does not seem possible that the NAM project is rapidly coming to close; just a couple more months and it will be complete. Now it is wrapping up all the loose ends and items that cannot be finished until the end.
