Volunteer Overview

Welcome! Your talents, enthusiasm, and time are needed!

A strong tradition of dedicated volunteers has been significant to the success of the mission of Hagley Museum and Library. You will join more than 550 volunteers who donate more than 20,000 hours of their time, making important and valued contributions to our programs, events, and development. Volunteers work with our professional staff both behind the scenes and with the public to bring to life the families who lived and worked here and the technologies they used.

We offer a wide variety of opportunities for all interests, talents, and ages, plus flexible scheduling to meet your availability. Volunteers are needed to nurture our gardens, interact with our visitors, work behind the scenes, and support special events.

Apply now to share your enthusiasm for nature, history, science, and learning! Hagley is a strong community leader in technology-based education. You can make a real difference in people’s lives, and meet other volunteers and staff who are also passionate about the unique educational mission of Hagley.

To get started:

1. Fill out the individual application here, group application here, or call (302) 658-2400, ext 257.

2. Contact Volunteer Manager Angela Williamson to arrange a meeting to discuss your interests in volunteering at Hagley.

3. You will be required to complete a simple background check form (no cost to you) at that meeting.

We look forward to having you join the volunteer team at Hagley!
