Souvenir album prepared for the thirty-sixth annual convention of the United States Brewers' Association held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia had been a major brewing center since before the Revolutionary War, and the number of breweries in the city continued to increase through the nineteenth century. By 1890, Philadelphia contained ninety-one breweries, many of which were located in the Brewerytown section of the city. This north Philadelphia neighborhood was home to some of the city's largest and most important breweries, such as Bergner & Engel Brewing Co., Louis Bergdoll Brewing Co., and F.A. Poth Brewing Co.
