Summary: At some point between 1822 and 1857, John Schofield operated a spindle manufacturing factory in the Rockbourn Mill, located on the site of the old Stidham barley mill. Schofield most likely sold his spindles to the many cotton spinning firms located along the Brandywine. The mill building was destroyed by a fire in 1857.
