"What ever happened to...?"
Every product package has a lifespan. A few successful packages appear on store shelves for decades, but many have much shorter lives. This section features the obituaries of packages that ultimately failed.
Some packages failed because their physical design or imagery was flawed. Other perfectly good products and packages fell victim to business deals or corporate mergers. Ironically, some products were even doomed by their own success.
Product failure has a range of consequences. Some packages come and go and leave little trace. In other cases, a failed package has the potential to take down an entire brand. For many different reasons, thousands of product packages now exist only in archives and antique shops.
