Schramm Inc. : A Century of Innovation

Schramm, Inc., has a rich history spanning over a century, marked by innovation, adaptability, and a commitment to quality in manufacturing. Founded in 1900 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the company initially focused on servicing engines and manufacturing air compressors. Over the years, Schramm evolved into a global leader in drilling equipment, serving industries like mining, water well drilling, geothermal energy, and oil and gas exploration.

Equipment driven by air compression served a critical role in construction and maintenance projects throughout the 20th century. Schramm led the way in compression innovations during the first half of the twentieth century. In the 1950s, it adopted that same spirit when the company transitioned to drilling technology. Its inventions were adopted by companies around the world, making it a leader in mining and mineral exploration..

The family-owned company has fostered a positive workplace for its workers throughout its history. Providing employees with vacation and sick time, pension and stock options, organized athletics, and an employee restaurant.

This digital exhibit highlights the company’s accomplishments and summarizes Schramm's role as a leading innovator in the design of construction and drilling machines.
