Founded in 1900 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the company initially focused on servicing engines and manufacturing air compressors. Over the years, Schramm evolved into a global leader in drilling equipment, serving industries like mining, water well drilling, geothermal energy, and oil and gas exploration.
Equipment driven by air compression served a critical role in construction and maintenance projects throughout the 20th century. Schramm led the way in compression innovations during the first half of the twentieth century. In the 1950s, it adopted that same spirit when the company transitioned to drilling technology.
